Valve torque = 100 Nm
● Safety torque = 100 × (1 + 30%) = 130 Nm
● Air source pressure = 5 Bar
Based on the double-acting torque table, the minimum specification for the selected double-acting actuator is DA105.

Under normal operating conditions, the safety factor considered for single-acting actuators is 30%-50%

For example:

The torque required for the valve is 80N·m
Safe torque = 80 (1+30%) = 104 N·m
Air source pressure = 5Bar
By referring to the output torque table of single-acting actuators, we can find SR140K7
The output torque is
Air stroke 0°=308N·m
Air travel at 90°=247N·m
Spring stroke 90°=181N·m
Spring stroke 0°=120N·m
All output torques are greater than our requirements.

Note:

During the spring reset process of a single-acting actuator, the ventilation through port B of the actuator does not affect
The actuator generates output torque, which conversely aids in the resetting of the spring.

Spring installation form of single-acting actuator

In the process of selecting a single-acting actuator, if we can understand the torque distribution of the valve during opening, operation, and closing, we can select the actuator more economically and reasonably.

Note:
Ensure that the output torque of the actuator matches the torque required to drive the valve (based on the actuator model and air supply pressure).
Please note that the selection of torque depends not only on the valve, but also on relevant operating conditions, safety factors, and other parameters.
