What is an actuator? What can be done

In the industrial field, the actuator usually refers to the device used to control the valve. Actuators are usually used in conjunction with valves to open, close, or adjust the position or opening of the valve to control the flow of fluid (liquid, gas, or steam) in the pipeline. The actuator can be manual or automatic, and the automatic actuator is usually driven by an electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic system. In industrial process control, combinations of actuators and valves are widely used to control fluid flow, pressure and temperature to automate production and operations. Common actuators include electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic actuators, which often form part of the control system together with valves.
